Santa Marianita


Being part of the coastal city of Manta in Ecuador located over 13 Kilometers south west from it, is located a world class spot for Kite Boarding, its name is “Santa Marianita”. It offers the best wind conditions in Ecuador, and like any other concentration of people in the coastline it is also a fishing village. It is a particular 3 Kilometer long beach with constant trade winds, starting from 16 to 22 Knots coming from the southwest and hitting side on shore. Santa Marianita’s best conditions season starts on May to December. As Mother Nature is so amazing it lets you catch side on the humpback whales while they migrate south.

Here we find one of the most important cities in the country, Manta also known as “The door of the Pacific” a small coastal city named after its ancestors the “Manteño – Huancavilca “ culture, known for being incredible sailors that made it through Peru and Central America looking to exchange goods like the Spondylus conch, cotton fabrics, gold, silver, copper objects and also obsidian mirrors.
